We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is central to every child’s happiness and progress. We work closely with families to create an open, welcoming community where parents feel genuinely involved in school life.
Staying Connected
Regular communication is at the heart of our relationship with families. Parents are welcome to speak with their child’s teacher at the beginning or end of the day, and more formal Parent-Teacher Meetings are held in the autumn and spring terms, giving families dedicated time to discuss their child’s development.
Each term, we also hold Parent and Child Mornings, which is a wonderful opportunity for families to come into school and share in their child’s learning firsthand.
Getting Involved
We warmly encourage parents to play an active role in school life. Whether it is accompanying children on a school trip, reading a favourite story to the class, or sharing knowledge of a cultural tradition, parental contributions enrich the experience of every child at Broadhurst.
Parents are also welcome to talk to the class about their profession – children are particularly delighted when visitors arrive in uniform. If you have a skill or area of expertise you would like to offer, such as gardening or cooking, we would love to hear from you.
Cultural Celebrations and Community Events
Throughout the year, Broadhurst marks a wide range of cultural and international celebrations, from Diwali and Easter to St Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. Parents are always encouraged to come in and share their own traditions, whether through stories, music or dress, helping children develop an appreciation of the diverse world around them.
Our whole-school community events bring families together across the year and include Children in Need, World Book Day, Sports Day and our much-loved annual Summer Garden Party.
