Pastoral care
We take the transition of children into the school very carefully and liaise with parents very closely over this vital stage. Parents or nannies will accompany their children into school in the early days and are encouraged to stay with them for decreasing lengths of time until they have settled.
Close communication between school and home is highly valued. The school holds regular Parents’ Evenings and parents are also encouraged to discuss any matters that might affect their child’s welfare and development with the Headmistress or class teachers.
Class teachers are available by appointment after school, every Tuesday, during term time. We encourage parents to use this time to communicate with us any pastoral or educational successes or concerns and to keep in close contact with us.
Our excellent staff:child ratio allows us to group children for different activities according to their needs and abilities, and means that teachers have one-to-one time with every child on a daily basis: care and nurture are our watch-words.
